Fortnite Leak Points to King Kong Debut

Summary

King Kong may be coming to Fortnite in Chapter 6, joining Godzilla and other crossover characters. Season 1 of Chapter 6 will feature collaborations tied to Japanese culture, possibly including Demon Slayer and Baymax. Chapter 6 Season 1 will bring new content and a new map on December 1.

A recent leak suggests that Kong from the Monsterverse franchise may be on his way to Fortnite in the coming months during the upcoming Chapter 6 of the massively popular battle royale game. The latest trailer for the upcoming Fortnite chapter already confirmed the arrival of Kong's longtime on-screen rival Godzilla, with a design pulled straight from the latest film in Legendary's Monsterverse.

The trailer for the latest Fortnite chapter confirmed previous rumors that Godzilla was coming to the game donning his bright pink spines and nuclear breath pulled straight from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The legendary kaiju is set to appear alongside a slew of new, original Fortnite characters and several other crossover characters from outside franchises.

Fortnite is packed with guest characters, with some fans noticing that some of them also participated in the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.

The latest information on the upcoming chapter comes from known leaker ShiinaBR on Twitter, who shared a post seemingly confirming that Kong is also set to appear in the game at some point soon. There is still no concrete information about when Kong may show up or what form he might take, but given the usual trend for Fortnite to have mid-season collaborations, it seems like a likely prospect.

Fortnite Might Be Kong's Latest Video Game Appearance

Of course, this would hardly be the first time Kong has appeared in a video game project, as the character appeared previously in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as a collaborative crossover with the Godzilla x Kong film. He even received his own solo video game project earlier this year, with the 2D Metroidvania Kong: Survivor Instinct hitting shelves back in October.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 seems to be taking a lot of cues from Japanese culture and media overall, with many of its skins themed after samurai, anime, and other iconic elements from the country. Naturally, the season's collaborations seem to tie into the theme as well, such as the leaked Demon Slayer crossover reportedly on the way and a skin based on Baymax from Disney's Big Hero 6.

Another change in the upcoming season comes from the price of the Battle Pass, which will seemingly increase to 1,000 V-Bucks from the usual 950, though Epic Games has promised the prices of the digital currency will not change. Fans will be able to see what exactly the new chapter in Fortnite has in store for them when it begins next month on December 1, bringing all these collaborations alongside new and returning items and a brand-new map along with it.
